In recent news, bridge repairs on the Oakland Bay Bridge were found to have faulty welds.

And bolts... Potentially lots of them. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Chinese counterfeit bolts? They're been found in some pretty critical applications... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

Roll Me Over
Since the bridge was made in 1955, there probably won't be a lot of Chinese bolts.

The cause really was pretty apparent. A truck carrying a large piece of equipment took out a number of members on a stressed truss system.
