Getting the Wheeling Fever
|
Mine had a worn out pin and drug on the bumper when opened. I had to drill mine out. Then I increased the hole diameter to 11/16" and bought a grade 8 bolt long enough to be able to cut off the head and the threaded part. Bought needle bearings that were sealed on one side. I drilled a hole and threaded it for a set screw in the lower portion of the hinge to hold the bolt "pin" in place. I also used bronze washers between the door side and body side. Make sense?
In short my pin would not come out even using a 20T press! I had to find a way to fix it and thought I should make it stronger and last longer! Maybe it will work!
