Not an actual recall that I fould. The guys in Oz refer to it as a hot fix. When the dealer looked up what he found, he said to me that it wasn't a TSB. Called it something else that was basically a step down I'd say. Also told me that when he talked to the warranty examiner, he didn't say TSB to him, but tried to make it sound more like it was. Solid guy, this dealer service rep...

Hot diggity, warranty approved. They are putting in a whole new rear diff, complete with the updated stub shafts. What a relief...!!!

Outstanding! Great dealer to have nearby, eh? I guess that's on the list of must do's for early gen3 owners then?

Congratulations! Not too often an extended warranty actually saves a major bill!

Definitely! This is the wife's family hauler, no trail dropping on these control arms. If you can wrench, you're looking at $200 in parts and what should be less than two easy hours. A couple of bolts mate each stub shaft to the half axles, then pop out the stubs. (Drain diff first.) And if you can't wrench, it should only be an hour or so shop rate. The new part came on during 2005 some time.

If you recall, I found this baby with 14k miles on it. Even though it was eight yeras old, I was able to still get a 7 year / 85k miles warranty. The platinum one that covers pretty much everything but wear parts. The new diff is $1700+ alone. The warranty co is going to give back all of my purchase price on this repair. Oh well...

Keith:

Have you seen the 2003 at VanDevere? It has 75k for $11k. It's on Fleabay now. Pretty sure I have seen it for a while now. Maybe they'll deal some...?
