coated gas pipe from lowes. It's scotch coat I think it something.

Do the pipes come pre-coated from Lowes or is this something you are spraying / rolling / brushing on? More details please. I'd like to do the same. I have 4 pairs of Yak towers - but only 2 x 48" bars. They fit the Gen 1 barely, so would like some longer ones.

the pipe i believe is coated in scotchcoat or something like that. If you go to home depot or lowes and look at the gas piping you will find that 3/4 inch piping is way too small. However if you look at the 3/4 brownish coated pipes its substantially thicker and fit pretty darn snug in the yakima towers. You can have them cut to size in store for free and you can use 1 inch furniture plugs on the ends. I believe a ten footer cost me 27$ cut to 54" which is about perfect.

Today I took the monty to the local aamco. They have a good rep on google etc. So I said Fuggit. Comes with warranty too. So they are going to replace the pan, shift shaft seal and hoses. Comes out to 550$ bones. This is with all factory part too. I feel like its reasonable considering the headaches I've had w this truck.

I also have a bad axle. The passenger side front. If anyone's got one they want to sell ... PM me. I'm still a couple weeks out. Due to the parts being ordered dealer direct. If everything is kosher I'll be looking for fender flares and front bumper \ brush gaurd \ sliders You can count me in at the next meet. That's for sure.

Went to the pull apart and grabbed a few things. Non bent grab bar, Smaller Mirrors. The mirrors will have to be drilled and mounted as mine are much different. Bummer and pain in the ass but hopefully they look the part and don't make noise as mine do now. [Linked Image]

What is wrong with the axle? Bad joints or just torn boots? Replacing the boots isn't all that difficult.

That's cool so long as they're not rebuilding it for you.

I've discovered after having AAMCO rebuild my old Supra AT their lifetime warranty is only as good as their expertise since a crappy rebuild is still a crappy rebuild no matter how many times they do it. That said my supra's transmission NEVER ran correctly after no less than 6 AAMCO attempts at rebuilding it.

no rebuild just changing gaskets and seals.

they seem to be the only aamco with a decent rep on google. As for the axle, they click here and there. I imagine at this point they would need replacing. I figure 50$ + the cost of a new boot is reasonable. Once clicking can they still be salvaged? its not bad but just on occasion.

Pretty nice.

Also there is a gen 1 for sale locally really cheap. It runs but has a leak. Ill go in with someone if they want a running gen 1 for cheap. I just want a few things off of it.

got the monty back finally. They ended up using a pan from a jeep dealership. My only gripe is they forgot to put on the clip and washer that goes on the end of the shift linkage. Im not sure I should be surprised. lets hope the leak doesn't return but if it does 1 year warranty is there so they can deal with it. . I be back there till its done right.
