The problem is that the cost is passed directly onto the consumer... YOU. YOU have to pay to have crap that offends you installed on your vehicle.

I don't see that as a problem. Driving is a choice. If one doesn't wish to shoulder the cost of being a responsible vehicle owner, then public transportation is available. Maintaining one's vehicle so it passes emissions laws is no different than maintaining the brakes so that it's safe to drive. It's part of the cost of ownership.

As long as you have the emissions crap on the car, and it's working, then you have nothing to worry about.
Virtually none of the emissions components on a modern vehicle are detrimental to its performance because the vehicles are designed to work with them from the start
Problem is, the SR's are NOT CONSIDERED "modern" emissions vehicle. Not even the ODB-2 ones like Ray's.

CA wants ANYTHING that's pre -2001 and under (aka 2000 and below) to be scrutinized and tested to the extreme..

instead of lifting the o2/NoX and Co2 values for older vehicles, they are making them tighter.

They basically want only PZEV's, ULEV, ZEV, AT-LEV's, etc,etc on the road now..

Good luck with that. I've posted my SR on CL's. I'm asking $3k and i'm REAL flexible cause i don't want to see it goto the state and get crushed.

Godo luck to whoever get's "Lucky" <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

I have a guy coming out later this afternoon from the CL ad. Just wanting to make sure that no one here wants "Lucky"?

Just remember, I've got the manual hubs, built 3.5, etc.. but he's a little rough on the top paint.

If not then he's prob gone. Just RedCar now.. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/patriot.gif" alt="" />
