I don't notice mine lock until after i stop accelerating in 4th gear, I'm not sure mine even locks when my OD is off. I'm not saying it doesn't lock in the lower gears i'm saying i don't feel it unless i'm in 4th. I've driven around watching the tach in different gears and still have only seen it drop (TC locked) in 4th gear.

Maybe a solenoid stuck possibly on your truck?
