One thing is for sure, unibody and IRS have to go. The theme of the roll out would need to include something about returning to Mitsubishi unique, tough and innovative roots. IRS and Unibody may be innovative, but for an off-road SUV its a nightmare. A solid front axle that rides well....that would be innovative.

The gen 4's are tough as nails man, the ifs and irs work together quite well. I know everyone hates it. at best I would go as far as to say a solid rear would suffice. the IFS is fine. its worked for how many years for them?

These wagons cross the simpsonn dessert and the canning stock route here in australia, spends months in teh kimberley. those are proving grounds.. and they take it in stride.

although I will agree with the unibody.. that is sorta gay. I perfer a frame to bolt stuff to.

But they're not really unibody, right? More like uni-frame? I've never seen one up close, but my understanding is that there are two subframes. Better than straight unibody.
