I would feel a whole lot better on my new turbo swap to have a real oil pressure gauge. However, the extra port on the oil filter housing (from Starion for cooler lines) where a Starion would have a gauge sender is totally blocked by the power steering pump. Then the gallery port has the factory Gen1 sending unit. Anyone mount an additional aftermarket unit?

Thought about having a block machined to accept 2 sending units (factory one with 1/8" BPT thread and aftermarket with 1/8" NPT) to screw into the factory port, but being BPT makes it a disaster trying to find a tap and die set.

BPT is NPT just not tapped as deep. Take an NPT tap and run into it a little bit to enlarge the hole to NPT standards. This is in the SOS manuals somewhere. I've done it on 87 B71 car I used to have. You can then easily find a brass street tee like this.

I think there is also a minimal pitch difference to the threads too....like -27 vs. -28. It's not much and a brass fitting would likely distort enough that it wouldn't matter.

I used a 28-tpi fitting for a 27-tpi application once-upon-a-time (Chevy LUV) and did not have any issues until I crashed the truck.

BPT is a straight thread, NPT is tapered, and while it can be done, it's very hard to start and NPT male into a BPT female. Lightly tap it with an NPT tap, testing until you get a good start on the HPT fitting, and even after tapping, you can still use a BPT in the same hole with some teflon tape.

If you buy a half inch longer PS belt, you can use a street ell (m x f threads) in the location just behind the timing belt.
