Went to change my front rotors and pads tonight, and on the passengers side hub the axle lock clip behind the front beauty plate was laying loose in there. It snaps on the axle tip tight but it wasn't even on there. Shim looks intact and was still around the axle. Clip doesn't quite look like I expected either, I guess I expected to see eyelets on the ends...not blunt ends. Anything to worry about? Everything else looks great (other than separating the hub and rotor was an exercise in hammer swinging ). <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

Sounds like some new clips are in order. They shouldn't be too loose, certainly not able to fall off on their own.

It clips back on very tight....I wonder if it just wasn't installed right. Looked everywhere and can't find a part number or vendor.

Yep, and Rockauto, etc too....all my normal Starion parts stomping grounds. Good friend is the parts manager for a local Mitsu dealership so I guess I'll get him to drag out the microfiche tomorrow...LOL.

I think they pop off when the axle does a maximum drop and deos it hard. I've had them pop off, too. I just whammed it back on there.

Dangit...you mean no more Bo and Luke moves???? I can't find anything wrong so unless I can get ahold of new clips quick and easy, back on it goes for me as well.

Clips and shims still available through Mitsu per my buddy. Will post part numbers once they arrive.

Nah, those little jumps are ok. It's the Smokey and the bandit jumps, like the one they did over the Black Warrior River on the old US78 bridge, that do the damage.
