Wow, thanks for all the info. I have a list of stuff still to get and cooling needs to be taken care of before the snow comes. I HATE having cooling problems when the snow is out.
Planning to just replace all the rubber.
Anyone ever replaced the OEM Mitsubishi VAR Shocks? How could they be worth $300 each? I like leaving all the "gadgets" working in the truck but $1200 to keep ECS is hard to agree with.

The general consensus on these trucks is to use KYB Gas-a-just shocks. They work particularly well with Monteros.

Someone posted on ExPo about Parts.com having just the adjustable shock, no control unit, for rather civilized pricing. Good enough that I'd go that route, based on my liking the feature way back when I had my 95 SR.

I HATE having cooling problems when it's hot out. Fixed that for ya. If you think cooling problems are fun when it's snowing, imagine the enjoyment we find here in AZ when it's 110 out.

I was hoping the 33's would fit without any changes/lifts needed. Looks like 33x10.5 would do the trick....not sure the 33x12.5 would work (it appears other forum posts say it wont).
I am excited to get wrenching, hurry up UPS! They do. Just may have to find a shop who will install them on the stock rims since the minimum rim width for 12.5's is typically 8.5 or 9". Otherwise, there's no interference within the wheel wells or anything else.

Had a bad experience needing to put water in for a cooling problem in the winter. Then I forgot to change it and let it sit outside for a week in 0 deg weather. The water turned to ice and took out the Radiator, seals, etc. Dumb mistake!

Went to parts.com and looked it up. http://www.parts.com/parts/1995/MITSUBIS...component=Shock$255 is the best price I can find so far. Thanks for the info.

Not sure if that will fit the gen II SR's or not or if the controls in cabin will work with the gen 2.5 shock.

I pulled the plenum this afternoon.....two butterfly valves were already gone!
One is still laying in the head, basically untouched. The other was mashed in half by a valve :-( . Time to pull the head.
I will post pictures when I clean up.
