The right side inner CV unbolts from the drive front axle assm. There is a retaining clip on the outside CV. I have successfully removed this piece by:
1. Disassemble the Auto Hub / Manual 4wd hub and remove. 2. Remove CV c-clip. 3. Remove 4 nuts & washers from the inner CV. The bolts will remain attached to the adapter. 4. Compress the CV shaft and pull down and out toward the front of the vehicle.
Two things more: 1. the vehicle must be lifted and stable for this work, 2. I have never re-installed a shaft by this method...as I generally only pull parts from the parts cars.
