I have been struggling for the last month or so with a broken crank bolt. I removed the bolt but the threads were trashed so I went with the time cert option and that is not working out for me. I wasn't able to drill the hole true enough and the time cert is pulling out.

These are my options as i see it.
1. Drill out the crank larger and tap for 3/4 inch bolt (hole is already drilled slightly larger than 37/64's)also drill out the HB to accommodate the 3/4 inch bolt.

2. remove engine, remove crankshaft and bring to machine shop see if they can repair the snout.

3. replace crankshaft with new/remanufactured crank.

with Option 2 and 3 I would go ahead and replace the rod and main bearing. Anything else I should do while i'm in there? Will i need to get the re-man crank indexed? I've never been into an engine before and don't want to miss any important steps. Any tips or ideas y'all might have would be much appreciated.
