The space available to fit a valve spring compressor around the valve springs is ridiculously tight on your engine, and 99% of the valve spring compressors just won't fit. Unless your buddy who owns the shop has used his spring compressor on this motor specifically, I'd lay money on it not being usable.


Does the same apply for the SOHC 24v 3.5? You've got me a little worried now, I am due for the valve stem seal replacement too. I noticed this summer season that If I let my truck idle for more than 10 - 15 minutes I will get "that smell" when I rev it up after sitting.

"that smell" is only recognized from when I was behind Stockraider's rig at a stop light a few times a while back when his did it but alot worse. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
