Yes, it sounds like it would be a good idea to pull the hub and check out the innards. Might just need a good clean and lube. The manual hubs are pretty simple and easy to work on. They're also quite bullet proof. So I'm betting they just need a good clean out and repack with fresh grease (do both, just for good measure).
