Need a Spot
Hi guys, I'm new here, just bought an 86 swb montero 2.6 my. One question does anyone know where the factory fog light switch is? I haven't had the chance to trace wires yet so I thought I'd ask. Thanks

The gen I's never came with factory installed fog lamps. If anything it's more likely the previous owner or dealership installed them.

If you can't find a replacement switch your current one probably has a direct replacement available but you just need to know where to look. Can you post up a picture of it? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Do you have any extra holes in the dash where a switch used to be? Alternatively you may just need to trace the wires back from the lights. They do make signal injector/tracer tools but that may only be an option if you know someone who does commercial or residential wiring.

I'll trace the wires, I just thought maybe there was a trick maybe to them. It seems that they aren't factory now so maybe the previous owner never finished hooking them up?

I have a factory foglight switch from a 91 LS available. The lamps attached to the bumper mount under the bumper, white Hella units, easily bashed. The switch has a plastic circular bezels the reads "FOG LIGHTS"....for sale if needed.
