6 hour round trip to pick this little beauty up. Rebuilt engine and tranny a few years ago.Has a weber carb that is gonna need some adjusting. Also is missing the passenger seat and rear carpet from rear floor area to tailgate.Temp gauge is Inop, but that's easy enuff to fix. Pics of how she got home and after I took the 15x10 rims w 32x11.50 off the diesel trooper in the background.Way to big, gonna need smaller.I also had an extra bumper with brushguard n winch mounts w lites laying in my shed. ![[Linked Image]](http://img844.imageshack.us/img844/1860/b4zv.jpg)

There was a time when someone said: "Great, another red one! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />"
However, I think those days are past. I've the red Raider and once had a plain jane red Montero automatic. Are you planning on a passenger bouncy, too?

Pre '87's are different, aren't they? Axle gearing isn't the same as 87+ and the auto transmission is a three speed.
I converted mine to a 2.4l with the four speed auto but it has yet to see the road.

Right on! I had those same wheels when I got mine, but they were white and rust. I couldn't get rid of them fast enough lol. I envy your carburetor! And that yours runs. Mine is currently broken. I need to go work on it buts cold and I'm sick. Ugh.

Pre '87's are different, aren't they? Axle gearing isn't the same as 87+ Axle gearing was same throughout the marque: 4.625 and 4.875 for the high altitude. The '86 body and other exterior fitments are the same. Interior was still in two levels, with / without exposed painted surfaces. The radio and center consoles were holdovers from the 83-85 models. This particular Montero with the stainless trim may have shiny ends over the upper grab handles, rather than color-coordinated rubber bits. '86 was the break year for the SWB in many aspects.

You come down to Tallahassee to get this one? One just like it on CL for 1000 bucks. Got to be it. There is another 86 in Panama City with a blown head for sale 800 bucks. Another 87 in JAX with some sweet wheels on it and a blown clutch for 2K. Could probably unload those wheels and pay for the clutch.

I was gonna do the same thing. I got a rifle I really don't shoot anymore. Thought about trying to make a trade. I just need somewhere to put it is my problem. Already got 2 one running and one that supposedly ran before I bought it for 300 bucks.
My running one needs a bunch of leaks fixed on the tranny, transaxle, and diff. That and new shocks, ball joints, etc. Cost more than the value of the truck to fix it all. So I have just been filling her up every month or so with fluids.

BoUnCy is the adjustable ride seat base that should be under the driver seat you have...being that you have the shiny trim, stainless drip rail cover, and broken off headlight washers. This truck should have rear LSD, too.
