the temo gauge is inop...found the problem, possibly.
The wire from the sensor is gone. Here is the sensor,i believe this is the one for the gauge?
also,i have 2 more harness ends that aren't hooked to anything.1st one has 2 prongs inside it,and it is on the alternator harness section.
2nd one is near the wiper stuff.possibly this is the headlites squirter harness?

The wire you want is yellow with a blue stripe and is shown in the manual as bundled with the other two sensor wires to the water neck. To test the one you find, turn on the key and ground the wire for a second and see if the temp gauge goes full scale hot.

finally got time to check this out and no yellow wire w blue stripe found. Bundled with the other 2 wires is a bigger wire that goes to the alternator.

Is it there at the instrument cluster connector?t

I did some looking at the harness diagram and the wiring diagrams, and the gauge wire was bundled with the a/c clutch wire, which had a flat connector and was black/white stripe.

it could be one of the wires I posted in the first pic. This monty came ac delete so those wires jut might be loose ends.
The gauge is the stock one. Seems at 1 time the sensor was connected, possibly he broke it off when he rebuilt the engine and never replaced it. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shame.gif" alt="" />
