Also, crazy events... This is the reason why I have my CCW. Any meth head trying to wrestle me out of my own car would be fairly dissapointed. Glad to hear the Montero did what designed to do and sacrifice itself for you and your family.

Holy chit Matt! Glad you and the family are okay...
Sounds like the other driver is certainly a big time looser. Even so, I'd file a suit against his ass. No reason he shouldn't be paying you back at some future point. Also, make really sure your kids are alright, not just physically, but mentally/emotionally too. Don't sign any releases on them until you are completely sure they are 100%. I'd even hold off for a good bit. It could take a little while for somehthing like nightmares to surface.

Just glad to hear you all are safe. I could only imagine how it all looked on your end during this whole process
Its a shame you've only owned the Montero for such a short time and just finished putting the lift & tires, not to mention the service. Time to make a Montero Trailer like Hans did with his 3S IF you cant get her road worthy again

First off so glad you and your loved ones are OK and you were in the Montero versus a car or something else less protected.
I really hope the rig's repairable although if it's not, I'm sure you can find another one.
As for the pictures, If you need help posting them let me know. When I checked your post using Moderator privileges there was nothing there showing you incorporated the images. So show an image there needs to be the correct UBB Code with a link to the image but I didn't see that in any of your posts.

What he ^^^ said. Good to hear everyone's okay. I worry a bit about putting the little one (just turned 11mos) in her seat in the back of the Pajero, but errant machines are less concern than their often errant drivers.

Hi guys, thanks for the nice comments. I'm sorry the pics are not up yet. My pics are all too big so I have to find time on a desktop computer to resize them and then post up. I thought I would be able to do that today at work but the police department called and asked me to come in to read and sign the reports. I promise I'll get the pics up soon. In the meantime, here is the arrest report and newspaper article. Newspaper Arrest report A quick google search shows 7 other mug shots besides the current. He has been to prison twice and already had a warrant out for his arrest for possession of meth when he hit the Montero. I do have more great news though, the owner of the g5 has insurance and they are going to cover the Montero. I found a really nice looking '99 with a blown engine that I may pickup and swap.

Re the insurance claim, don't just settle for the truck. Personal injury, mental duress, you name it. And don't accept the insurance company estimate of value - they'll try to give you low wholesale. Point out that you don't buy at wholesale, add up all your repairs and improvements, and insist on an outside appraisal if they don't give in. They don't have a leg to stand on in this one...
Glad everybody's ok, at least physically.
