Well I ended up decided that rather than fish it from the top, it would come right out if I disconnected the driveline from the front differential. I was right. It practically fell out. Had to use about 3 feet of extensions to get at that bolt from behind the transfer case. I need to invest in another 2' extension. The one I have isn't enough, I"m always having to borrow tools to do it.

I tried getting the solenoid off. The two Phillips head bolts will NOT budge. I sure wish they'd used hex headed bolts! I might have to cut them off and replace them, unless y'all have any fantastic suggestions. I could try some penetrating oil I suppose, but those things are on pretty snug. Broke a flathead screwdriver I used to try to get a good bite. Vice grips just slipped off (not enough side area).

I'm all ears!
