I hope your state has a Castle Doctrine on the books and it extends to your vehicle as well. Otherwise, such a shooting situation could cause far more problems than it solves, long term.

In AZ, the above is on the books. My vehicle is my castle and if invaded, and I feared for my life (make sure to say that, too), it's acceptable to fire without chance of criminal OR civil proceedings being brought against you, as long as you clear the former, that is.

Civil is where the survivor's family can wipe you out. For that reason, it doesn't hurt to establish a trust. That way, technically, you don't own anything. The trust lets you use it. And it pays your salary. And it owns your house. Etc., etc. It sure makes it a lot harder (not impossible) for somebody to sue you and win. Lawyer up before-hand and get 'er done.
