a head gasket job really isn't too bad. I've never done one before, but did it on my gen 2.5 earlier this year. Just give yourself some time, and make sure you get the old gasket material cleaned off real good.

better to do it now than after an overheat. Plus while you have the heads off, you can do the valve seals much easier


Well, yea, I have had great success with the KW block seal. A friend borrowed my truck way back when, overheated it in the hills of CA, and limped it home blowing steam out the radiator.

I used the KW block seal and ran it for 2+ years that way as a work truck in Los Angeles. finally did the rehab of the truck, found two cracked cylinders and decided to get a new block.

That is another story, but the block seal worked great.

You do have to isolate the hole that is blowing, and pull that plug. A bit unnerving, but works.
