I was told I was 1/8" off on my eyeball alignment regarding the setting of the toe on the '95. I was out by that much. Joel at Jack's said I'll put him out of business with that kind of work, and I'll take that as a compliment. That truck is set to short-term rock.
I started inspecting the '86 for fueling issues. I found a few "I.D.G.A.F" items, and by that, it appears somebody didn't really spend a few minutes thinking this through. One of the leak/spew/spray points was on the pressure line by the gas tank. Reused a spring clamp between the fuel injection hose off the pump to the hard line? I double clamped that one and also used the spring clamp, so there's now three on that connection.
Keeping with the back, the terminals on the fuel pump weren't tight; simple fix. All of the hose clamps needed tightening. The fuel hard lines are now back in the factory mount that was disconnected when the body lift went in, which just necessitated moving the clamp a little and making the fuel pump ground share the bolt attachment point.
I then ran a jumper wire from the battery to the fuel pump positive. Good news: no fuel leaks in the back any more. Bad news/not really; the fuel leaks from the high pressure banjo connection at the front fuel filter, and I mean it leaks big time. There may be a wave washer missing, but I ran out of daylight to be able to check.
I'm impressed with the fuel fittings I got from NAPA. Just as Toasty said, they don't even require clamps to hold incredible pressure and the only way the hose would come off of them is to cut it off. None of them leak. And zero leaks so far from anything Pa_Jero made with Teflon tape at screw-in connectors. I need to be able to reach static/full pressure and be able to see it hold before anything else.
I think I'm close here.
I found a round top part with the important sensors inside, to the air cleaner. Odd. I had that weird oval one, plus the round one, but I don't have the round filter enclosure can. No problem for now; I'll just clamp the filter to the top/important part for the time being. At least the filter fits.
My power steering pulley (but not the pump bracket) will be here tomorrow. After I hopefully put that on, I should be able to mount the radiator and shroud up and plumb the transmission cooler, which this truck didn't have when stock (the 3-speed auto just relied on the one in the radiator).
That's it for today. I smell like gas!
