Oh, O.K., I didn't know what a VR4 was, really, I guess. Didn't see a turbo, but didn't look for one, either.

No SR's that I could tell from their inventory on-line, but then again, I didn't ask when I was there. I only went to that one yard because Toasty told me about a specific truck that had the parts I needed. It had them, at least almost everything. I'd still like to really find a proper Mitsubishi transmission cooler.

I do know the stock Mighty Max alternator isn't so mighty, so I thought I'd take a swing with this one. From all indications at the Rock Auto site, it's 90 amp also. Nice. Double the output of stock for my thunderous stereo (actually, this '86 has the best cheap stereo I've ever put together). Brian's (DR1665?) write-up of how to make these work seems pretty straightforward, maybe even more easy with this vehicle. I looked after the earlier post and saw the apparent four wires for the Galant plug had been spliced down to two, so I think it's all there. Unless I blow it up, that is.

Picked up some engine paint and some header paint. Going with gloss and flat black on this one. Maybe I'll even do the valve cover in black. How dumb is that? I mean nobody does it, as far as I remember. Can't be any dumber than my '87 Turbo with the gold valve cover and black gloss fasteners. THAT paint ought to be plenty cured, since I painted it nearly a decade ago and left it in the back of the Raider, out in the sun.
