Sorry so slow ... TP crank ..LOL..I forget and switch over to 'mechanic' at times .. The "TB crank".. The 'throttle body crank'.. The deal that the throttle cable and trans kick down cable goes to on the TB (throttle body) .. There seems to be a left and right TB cranks..And ones with the iner spring and ones that have no spring..Theres big and little TB cranks .. And a mix of all of them sorry to say..

The way the TB crank "cam's" over really matters to how the trans shifts I'm seeing.. So you need a TB crank off the same sort of trans ...I have one I think will work .. But its a right hand side non-spring and you need a left hand side so you will have to cut off the 'stop arm' and weld it to the other side and drill a hole in it...

Mr Wizard is not near where his info right now .. So there should be letters on the alt at the body of the alt like E,F,I and so on..There very standered wiring and all ..So once we have that we can know what 'most' mitsu alt's are wired .. Most pulleys are standered to I was told .. 22mm 17mm 15mm... Pulley is easy my guy has 5gl bucks full..LOL....

O.K., thanks Haz. Like I said, I need a v-belt pulley with a 17mm hole, that's key to getting me moving again. Please ask your friend if I can get one. I'll check the alternator to see if there are any markings on it for lettering or anything. Maybe I'll just bring it with on Saturday and let you look at it.

See you then.

Oh, and another thing, I think I have the transmission kick-down thing ironed out. If you have an appropriate linkage, great, but don't go out of your way for it. I fabbed up a bracket, so to speak.

YOU are the Man, Mr. Hazardous. I have the nut off the alt already. I'll throw it in the back of the truck and bring the plug, too.

Cool on the TB crank. It'll probably wind up the Transmission cable in the proper progression better than my hack job. Once I see it, I should be able to figure out how to make it work lefty instead of righty.

Monte3, we're going to try to leave at 6:15 to make the Evil Egg thing. (I don't like eggs; I know they have other stuff)

RyanY, you get rebooted?

Motero, figure anything out? Exploding half shafts...ten minutes...not cool. I hope you shoveled up those parts and dumped them back on their counter where you bought them.

DR1665, your friend make it in O.K.? This is going to be a big one! Sounds like quite the caravan. Charge up those cameras.

I must confesse ... The Rally truck was drag raced by Mitsu with a auto trans then roadraced.. Then given to a guy to rallyrace and he put a 5 speed in it .. I replaced the TB and keeped the old TB to fix ..The TB's on Mitsu die real fast if your wholeding the gas to the floor all the time .. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/evil.gif" alt="" />.. But I should have one if I can find it .. Its not where it should be..

What are you doing for the 'cable stay' at the motor .. I'll bet the one under the Rally truck is auto.. The truck is OEM with a auto trans ..

There's actually a place for the cable stay for the kick-down cable already on the engine. Looks like it was meant to be, so it is probably a one-size-fits-both part, unlike adding on power steering, for example.

Monte3, I Mapquested San Tan Valley, where Canyonero and Pa_Jero both live (close enough), to Lake Pleasant (close enough) and it's 90 miles!
