I owned a Dodge Shadow with the 3.0 eng, '94 year model. It started using a quart of oil every 700 miles before the 70k mile warranty ran out. The Chrysler dealer told me at that time that there was a problem with the guides loosening in the heads and pulling oil around the guide into the combustion chamber. They supposedly replaced one piston because the rings had stuck, replaced the guides and new seals. never did find out how they stopped the guides from loosening, if in fact they did.
