The overdrive on my 1989 V6 LWB stopped working. Grounded the thermosensor wire up on the thermostat housing. Nope. Pulled the blower box and checked the relay for corrosion. Clean. Overdrive solenoid is suspect. Question. Where is the one (pink) wire connector to the overdrive solenoid supposed to connect? The two wire connector is obvious. It is the single wire connector in this photo. It was just hanging there. Thanks.
Anybody? Bueller? I can't find the other end of that single wire connector anywhere. Looked in the 1989 FSM. Maybe I'm just tired. Scoured the archives too.

Thanks Fast Eddy. That's a good lead. (pun intended) Where is the A/T temp sensor located on the case in relation to the OD solenoid? The wire was pink even under the tape but who knows. It was part of the same harness as the solenoid, just like in that pic. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
Pside of the tranny on the cooler line fitting. Download the shop manual for the 89 from mitsubishilinks.com and look in the electical volume in the wiring diagrams chapter and look at the engine compartment harness layout for the connector numbers for that branch. Then go to the wiring diagram for the o/d control and look at that connector number on the wiring diagram. I see nothing that has a pink wire. I also checked the various mode switches for the 4wd and lorange wires and the pulse generator on the back of the tcase, and that's about all that goes to the tranny area. The branch of the harness you are looking at goes from the engine compartment into the tunnel, right?
Sweet. I did just that. B-12 red wire to the automatic transmission oil temperature switch. LED shop lights might have made it look pink. Thanks for the help. I must need glasses or an upgraded brain unit.
I am having the same problem with my OD I have ordered the solenoid and am wondering about the best way to access it? I have read that I will have to remove the transfer case to get to it. Can you share the procedure with me to best access the solenoid?
