Getting the Wheeling Fever
Got the hood latch hook welded up yesterday to get rid of the flutter at high speeds. Nice and snug now, don't know why I waited so long to do it.

Replaced the heater motor resistor on my lunch today as well as inspect the sunroof motor and grease the tracks. Brushes are toast, and the armature has some nasty gouges? Found a used replacement that should hopefully do the trick, but won't know till it gets here.

If I can get some time in Sunday I would like to start painting some of the trim parts to freshen them up a bit. Maybe prep the floors for paint as well.

Forgot to mention I lubed up the lock mechanism on the driver side rear door as well as the gate yesterday. Still couldn't get the gate to lock or unlock properly at the switch, and thought it was the actuator. Found a thread here about cleaning the inside contacts of the switch so I figured might as well give it a shot. Worked like a charm! I can now lock/unlock the gate with ease.

Within the switch cleaning link, it also mentioned a fix for the Inhibitor switch. Decided to give that a good cleaning and adjustment so the vehicle could be started without having the have the shifter in the perfect Park position. Another fix checked off the list. I love this forum!

Just spent the last couple hours trying to figure out why the driver's rear door jamb switch is only getting a little over 6 volts instead of 12. Unfortunately I am still none the wiser, and just need to skip it for now. Hopefully I will have that moment of clarity to clear it up a bit.

In the process I did realize my rear dome light is missing a part of the spring mechanism. Not sure if it's worth the trouble to mess with right now either.

Finally got my new idler pulleys in today, so I was able to install them and all new belts except the timing. Wow. I never realized how freaking noisy the pulleys were. I knew they made a bit of racket, but this motor has never been so quiet. Even the wife noticed as soon as it started up. By the way, I found what seems like the best deal for idler pulley replacements, two for $47.90 shipped: http://www.amazon.com/Mitsubishi-Pulley-...ywords=Md102451

I didn't want to post it up until I got them in my hands to make sure they fit right. So far they are great. I can't believe how heavy they are compared to what I assume were originals. Very burly indeed.

Fuel filler hose arrived as well as the rear axle seal today. Unfortunately I won't have time until Sunday to install, but apparently we are supposed to get rain. Probably won't get to either until next weekend. Also have an idler arm waiting to install when time allows.

I've been sitting on a few parts for a while now waiting for some time to install. My front brakes started squealing earlier this week, so I spent the day working on the Montero.

front brakes done
idler arm replaced
fuel filler neck/hose replaced
right rear inner axle seal replaced
wheels painted

I was hoping to get the trim painted around the doors and the wiper arms, but that will have to wait until Monday. Wednesday I am getting the A/C fixed or charged. Whatever is required to get it going.

As cool as that sounds, I don't want to spend the time or money on the swap. It rarely sees much offroad, and the stock LSD works fine for me. Changing some bearings and seals aren't that big of a deal.
