Hey guys. I'm looking at a GENIII to possibly buy, and I wanted some input from the experst. My '92 still isn't running and the frame rot on my '95 is so bad I need to stop using it as a daily driver.

I'm looking at an '05 with 88k miles on it. It is very clean inside and out. They're "not sure" about whether the timing belt and water pump were done yet, and it doesn't have a hitch. I think I'd just buy it for 10k if it had a hitch and had the service records done.

I also saw an '01 that's really clean, with only 64k, and they're asking 7k. No hitch on that one either.

How hard is it to install a hitch on the GenII? I put one on my '92, but the wiring has never been right. I'd really rather have it done professionally.

I know the '01 only has the 3.5 and the '05 has the 3.8, but I really don't think I'll care about that. I'm perfectly happy with the performance of my '95 3.5.

Man, I can't believe how hard it is to make a decision on a new(er) vehicle. I've been driving the same thing since '93, and I love it. Wish it was possible to buy GenIIs brand new. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> I did find a '95 SR that had a turbo diesel in it that was in really good shape, but the guy wanted 10k for that, and it was in NJ.

Thanks for your input guys. I really appreciate it.

Seems to me like you're getting the III's a little mixed up, as in how many I's you're using. The title of the post has two, then you're asking about 2001+ (three I's), then asking about installing a hitch on a two I. Could you maybe edit that for clarity, please?

Damn. Yeah I hosed that up. I'm looking at 3s, and wanting a hitch on the 3s. I currently have two 2s and need to upgrade. Sorry for the confusion.

Maybe would have done better there, although it was so poorly worded to begin with, it probably wouldn't have mattered.
