NO alternator likes an oil leak. My rebuilt one came with a note in the box saying they had a lot of cores being returned with oil soaked parts, and they warned to correct that situation or to expect it to happen again. They noted it was most likely cam seals leaking (on the DOHC 3.5, anyway).

Yep..I plan to fix those seals when I do the timing belt. SOHC, mine.
