My t-case switches are all dodgy when I test them. Has anyone had any luck cleaning these bad boys?
If not - anyone have parts numbers or a line on a generic replacement switch?

Welcome to 4x4wire!
There are some places you may locate the switches online. One of the sites I use is not responding right now.
You may be able to download the ASA program...search through this site...and find your OE numbers that way.
Third, look up mitsubishilinks.com and get the FSM for your truck. This should give you some additional information.
Cheers.

As Russell said, welcome to the wire. Your best bet would be to download the Mistubishi ASA parts lookup program from mitsubishilinks.com and install it on a Windows PC. Then plug in your VIN and lookup the part numbers.
Alternatively, your local dealer should be able to look thae part number up for you.

ASA only runs on windows or I would be there on that in a second (stupid mac). I have the FSM and have been taking the switches out to test them and cycling them about a hundred times. Still little joy - it's better but not 100% checks out.
Wondering if there are any chems that are safe to soak these in like acetone. Also trying to determine if there is a generic switch possible in this role.

Iirc, those switches only control your indicators... And not the transfer case function. Perhaps someone here could get you the right number. I would but I only have my tablet with me right now and not my laptop. Alternatively, check with a Mitsu dealership on Monday for the correct part number. You'll need your vin number for them to look it up,

On the electrical side of the switches, which I doubt you are asking about anyway, but, use electrical contact cleaner. Brake cleaner or acetone should be O.K. on the mechanical side. I use brake cleaner on just about everything without apparent harm, but then again, I'm a simple son of a cave man.
If you want to PM me a VIN, I can try to look up part numbers for you in ASA. Alternatively, at least tell us what year and model you're driving.

I "think" the t-case is the same for '99 as it is for my '95. If that's the case, there are six (!) switches in there. I haven't plugged them in to a site for pricing, but I guess I'd try cleaning them before replacing them. I've never heard of an aftermarket replacement for them and they're probably Mitsubishi-specific.
Their sole function is for indicating lights, and, if your truck has a locker in the rear end, to keep you from locking it unless you are low range. The actual shifting is mechanical.

ASA only runs on windows or I would be there on that in a second (stupid mac). There is a version ASA that has been built to work with Virtual PC on a Mac. I have it, works great. Let me know if you want it and I'll put it somewhere so you can grab.
