On the electrical side of the switches, which I doubt you are asking about anyway, but, use electrical contact cleaner. Brake cleaner or acetone should be O.K. on the mechanical side. I use brake cleaner on just about everything without apparent harm, but then again, I'm a simple son of a cave man.
