Hmmm, what IF there was a way to run the snork into the fender, not connecting it directly to the intake inside the engine bay, so that the stock intake still was connected the same as factory - but...mostly seal that inner and outer fender, save for a drain hole or two at the bottom? There'd be a big plenum that could fill up with pressurized air when driving on the highway, it would stay mostly watertight when fording, and there wouldn't ever be an issue in pouring rain (not to say there is now, but it's possible...). Anybody ever try that? There could even be a manual "Y" valve to directly connect the snorkel to the tube if you needed to bypass the 'fender plenum,' controlled by a simple cable.

It's just an idea, don't flame-on...
