Grasscat, that's awful darn nice of you. I would imagine he'd also need a rebuild gasket set and new head bolts. The search is on.

WWFF, any way you could tentatively check into maybe FedEx shipping? Try just using his ZIP code as the destination, 93453. Guess at the weight if you have to. Shipping would be killer, but I bet we could get a chip-in from several people to make it bearable.

Hang in there Krzy, let's see what happens.

also check uship.com. we just used them to ship an engine to the east coast. decent bid price.

I'll throw in to help with shipping. Or - if it's not too late, I can drive it down mid/late dec on my way home.

It is, and more can help. Can we please get together on this? Let's make this guy's year. Pass the word, it's worth it.

If we want to take up collections for Dave, I'm in. I can also offer a rebuilt shortblock minus oil pan and harmonic balancer....no heads <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Thanks Micheal,
I'll try to borrow a pickup and bring somebody with muscles to help get it into the truck, and try to make it up.
A good shortblock is more than a good start to bringing my Raider back from the brink of the abbyss.
I have a new oil pump, headbolts, extra pan and oil pickup, and some of the gaskets and seals.
Didn't you move awhile back, or still in the same place?
Thanks again to everybody else helping me and my rig out. I can probably scrape up enough for shipping if somebody can find some heads, maybe a bit more.
I had my Raider towed to car jail in Sacramento for working on it on the street in from of my house. So I'm paranoid about nieghbors complaning. I'm in a better place now, only got one to worry about.
