 dual battery setup 1 gen lwb montero

my land cruiser had duel batteries and i loved having that extra battery and want to do the same with montero. i know how to do the wiring but i was wondering if anyone else has this setup and where they put the extra battery?
1990 5sp lwb 274,000 miles 80,000 on new motor

I don't recall if yours is and RS or LS model. Either way, the second battery mount location is on the driverside front inner fenderwell immediately behind the headlight. On the LS, this is where the headlight washer reservoir is located. There may also be interference from other items.

gen 2 battery tray fits nicely.
a/c lines and cruise control unit will also be in the way - if you have those. I tried this mod, removed the hw pump, and then ran into the other items. There are good threads on this...

I did it, it is great and a cheap build,
I bought a boat battery box, a jumper cable
removed the clamps and welded the worked very good
main battery is in engine bay, the other is beside the driver seat
I have pictures if you like
