I bought the 93 SR mentioned in another post and it really needs tires. Would like to go with 33 x 10.5 x 15s, but choices are pretty limited.

Who is running this size and what brand?

I'm looking at these:
BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO

Need to know especially about winter performance & road noise.

Tire Rack reviews are varied.

I ran them on my SWB genII, and now run the mud version on my LWB genII. The BFGs were okay in the winter, but I'll take snow tires any day over any AT. I put 110k kms on my ATs. Great traction without giving up too much to the weight of a wider tire. I now have about 70k kms or so on my mud terrains KM2s (well, the front ones - replaced the rears already). They are not great in snow unless its the deep stuff: as soon as we hit this time of year I switch out to my ice tires and put away the BFG's till spring. The ATs were a little better but I guess it depends on how much snow/ice you're talking.

ATs were acceptable as far as noise, the MTs are very noisy... noisier as the wear of course. Neither set balanced very well, and on different wheels... not sure if BFG has improved this or not?

Overall, I think the 33x1050 is a perfect size for the genII. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

I have a set of these, in 31" - I had a set on a 4Runner, in 32" - they are good tires. Not terribly noisy, and very functional. Better than an average all-season in the winter, but not as good as a snow tire in the snow... obviously. Good solid choice.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
I am running BFG All Terrain's (33x10.5). Been wheeling in deep snow and ice/snow packed roads for the last 3 weeks. I air down in the back woods, they do great! The Yota guys keep trying to do a wheel swap when I am not looking :-)

I will say that 10.5 is not wide enough when your on a side slope. It's a battle to keep her on the road. Still gets me where I want to go, I just have to be on top of it.

In the ice/snow pack they have been awesome (air down to 28ish for me). In 2wd it hooks well enough to get me up and down the mountain without drifting around (although that is fun)

I hear more engine noise then road noise.....although I just don't care about noise :-)

Keep in mind I don't have anything to compare...not sure I would want to take them off to test anything else right now :-)

I went from 32x11.5 to 33x10.5 BFG AT KO...Theyve been great winter tires. I think they do really good in the snow (New York winters). As for noise, I dont hear any, but im not to particular about tire noise, due to usually having the radio on.

I hope this finds everyone in good health and spirits!

I recently purchased the BFG KM2's and really like them. After a few hundred miles, the noise diminished significantly. However, my mileage dropped significantly to 14 MPG on highway vs 19 MPG. I expected a decrease and can live with it. It's not my DD, so its for play...I like my stock rims, I can live with 10.5 inches vs 12.5.

It should be noted: The tech had problems balancing them. Ive never seen so many weights on a tire.

Sam's had them at a great price. I purchased five tires and the sales person restated 5 tires! Yes I replied. He told me that he has been working in the tire center for several years and never sold five tires.

Oh, I haven't had an opportunity to test them in the snow.

Happy Trails!

First of all - Tire Rack is the BOMB - ordered tires yesterday afternoon - delivered today - don't think it was even 24 hours and it was ground shipping. Went with the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO's in 33 x 10.5 x 15. Had them mounted / balanced this afternoon - fit perfect. So glad I went with these. Truck looks so different (better) too. Took a look at the engine compartment ID tag and shows 4.875 gears - so shouldn't be a problem turning these.

Happy with the truck so far, but hate to say it - wish it had heated seats! 10F this morning - These leathers may be getting seat covers... Shearling Lambskin? or aftermarket seat heaters...

I'm just wishing my '95 had heat right now. The heat control knob isn't controlling anything as of a couple of days ago, something must've come loose.
