So do I have to extend the rear spare tire carrier with longer bolts to get the 12.5 width to fit?
- what length bolts? and spacers?
- yes I looked in the archives

Since the lug bolts are long enough you just need to put washers between the new rim and the mount itself... unless you used wheels with a really deep offset.

I put some 2" square tubing under the spare mount withlonger bolts.works great, clears the wiper, no squeaks on the body.

Put washers between the mount and the body?
Is the tire hitting the body, or is the rim not deep enough to get you enough lug on the mount?

Since the tire is heavy I would think that the more mating surface between mount and body as well as mount and wheel would be best.... Aluminum wheel spacer?

I hang 33 x 12.5's on the back of a couple of rigs and have even been hit in the back by a couple of vehicles without serious damage, That is just another tough area of these trucks. Six bolts hold the carrier in place. Space out whatever you need to, it won't hurt anything...probably.

Interesting that you all seem to prefer spacing out the mount itself. That means extra work removing the mount to add spacers when instead you can add spacers to the lug bolts and space the rim farther from the body and mount instead. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I just turned my 31's around backward. Mounts fine.
The kids called my wife's Montero the "Momtero". So, they called mine the "Dadtero".
