I'm serious. My thinking went this way. If D is very hard, on a range from A-D, and it's on an off road vehicle, where you want some compliance to avoid bending hard parts, but road handling want's some stiffness, B is the correct compromize. On a street sports car, I'd want D. On a strictly offroad vehicle, I'd want A.

What makes you think I'm whacko? Outside of experience?
