I'd like to change this behavior, but the 98 FSM doesn't give any indication that this should happen. Could it have been changed in 99 or 00? Anyone have a wiring diagram for the fog lights for a 2000? thanks.


Most fog lights are wired using a relay. IIRC the relay is energized by your switch (in the cab) which is wired to the power from your low beams. If you have high beams on (instead of the low beams) when you turn on the switch, there is no power at the relay to energize them to send power the fog lights so they won't turn on.

In many states this setup is what's legal. Not that you'd be pulled over for it but you may want to check your local laws on this before making any changes. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />


I'll have to look closer at the wiring diagram, I must be missing something.
