Even new jeeps are just pavement princess. I see the gas and oil rig works around here with a built up brand new jeep with 20k or more in it. That never see more then a dirt road to a pad. I think we will be stuck with rigs from the 70's,80's and 90's to build the way we want.

Don't they still make the Rubicon models? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I'm sure the jeeps are pretty capable offroad, especially compared to SUVs built these days, more so now than ever. They really don't have any competitors in the off terrain category.

Didn't hyundai use Mitsubishi designs and motors back in the day? Now Hyundai is much bigger than Mitsubishi. Maybe they should consider teaming up with them and making other vehicles as well. It's been heavily discussed over on the 3000GT forums. Eapecially now since Nissan came out with the GTR. Bring them all back! lol

Yep! I used many mitsubishi parts when I rebuilt the top end of the 2003 Hyundai XG350L I used to have. It looked like a cross between my '99 6G74 and the '94 DOHC Monty I had.

Mitsubishi is still selling designs to Hyundai, aren't they? Just imagining the Hyundai Galloper, etc being based off the First and 2nd Gen Monteros to make new ones today.

Eventually those that research things for Mitsu may run across this post and get a "feel" for everyone's feedback.

I have a hard time believing that there's anyone at Mitsubishi that does this. If there is, there's definitely nobody higher up that's listening to them.

The design and engineer teams of the late 80-s early 90s work for Nissan now, and they have said that whatever we think about Mitsubishis foolish moves starting in 1992 things were 10X more ridiculous. No one at the top willing to listen to anyone....Lets see where else did that happen....Hmmm, GM and Chrysler?
