This is the Fuze Link - had similar problem, but mostly due to battery corrosion. Built my own. Don't think there is a factory or aftermarket direct replacement available new any-longer.

I'd be asking myself what made it fry before I fixed it. It obviosly got hot. I'd first suspect some form of increasing resistance, dropping the voltage. When the voltage drops, the amps increase, and thus the heat increases, melting the plastic.

I know on my SR, one of the main battery wires was heavily corroded and it had to be cut back and a replacement terminal installed. Luckily it was long enough to do. Otherwise, I'd have probably had to replace the whole thing.

I think the reason it fried was because I left the headlights on until the battery drained dead. I can make up my own fuse box and I guess I'll go with slow blow types. I really don't have many boneyards around to go looking.

I have two different pieces, one from an 86 that has only 2 wires, the other from a 90 that has a whole mess of things that mount to the positive connector. I do not have this one. I'll be hitting up a yard nearby for things this weekend, if they are open on Monday. They have an 87 in stock, same as your 88.
