No cougars either, Kew...

We used to waterfowl hunt on the flyway around Decatur, AL. My shoulder is still sore, 40 years later, from shooting a 10ga goose gun with 36" barrels. I still remember my father shooting doubles with a Model 12 Winchester pump, never releasing the trigger, because the 12 didn't have a sear disconnect and would fire every time the slide hit the front stop.

I had the same experience with duch as I did with dove. I hit the first one I ever shot at, both shots almost dead overhead and very high (I went over on my butt on the mallard, 12ga vs 20ga), and then burned up at least 4 boxes of shells before I ever pulled another feather. Doves and duchs are FAST, and you won't believe the amount of lead you need...

My scariest hunting incident ever was in a duck blind when a guy's 12ga Browing automatic went full auto on him, and he didn't have the sportsman's plug in it. The edge of one shot hit the bill of my cap and spun it around into gangsta on my head. There is nothing colder than riding out to the blind in an aluminum boat in 25* water and 20mph wind in the dark, spray flying over the gunnels...
