There is a vent line from the bowl of the carb to the canister. Plug that and report back. ^^ This. Same issues on my own 2.6L truck and the bowl vent valve needed to be plugged. I stuck an old drill bit in mine ad secured it with a zip tie. Been like that a few thousand miles now.
