7500 bucks? Guys smoking something I want. No 84 is worth that much to me.

For 7500 bucks I just bought a 2003 4x4 Toyota highlander with 80K on it.

This guys market is very small IMO..

W/O looking I would assume the truck did not cost that much new. lol

Apples to Oranges comparison, your Highlander is not a diesel. Now if you said the market value for a mid '80s 2 door Land Cruiser diesel or BJ40 was in this price ballpark, you would have a valid comparison. They are not by the way. I'm just curious if you think the people asking for $15 to $35K for these are smoking something? What about ICON? They get ~$100K for their version of FJs.

$7500 is what i can get an actual JDM Pajero diesel for, a swapped truck isn't worth that much. Mine is way better than his and i couldn't sell it for $3500 nor $2500 for that matter, in the end they're just not worth that much being a swapped rig. I think if you ever want to recoup your investment you need to part out or be prepared to take the loss like i am.

All in all, if you're going to spend that kind of money get the real deal JDM diesel Pajero, if you want to spend less you can buy a diesel swapped Montero for under $3500 no problem.

Really? I've been looking and it seams pretty difficult (impossible?) for this kind of $$. Also would you really want a RHD vehicle in a LHD country? I've driven RHD vehicles in the UK, and been passengers in them in Japan, HK and Thailand. Can't really imagine a frequent RHD driver in a LHD road setup.

Apparently you are new to the Mitsuishi diesel market. The conversions still bring a good price, but the original truck demand high dollar. For instance a very nice or restored 1984 Mitsubishi Pickup will bring about $2-3K. On the other hand a very nice or restored 1984 Mitsubishi Turbo Diesel will fetch anywhere from $8-20K. Top dollar on a conversion is about $5-6K.

Would / could a '92 be worth ~$12 to ~$14K?

I highly doubt it. I have seen some nice early 90's Pajero's over the past year with diesels here in the states and they only go for about $7-10K. These are left hand drive and they are not converted engines. I think these vehicles are coming out of Central America and Puerto Rico.

Your right I am not familiar with the Mitsubishi diesel market.

It is just not worth that much to me that's all. Conversion or not I would never spend that much on a 1984 unless I was a collector or something.

This is why I said his market must be very small.

How big is the market for a vehicle like that? One guy here from what I am seeing has to darn near give the vehicle away even though the value is high. Are these conversions region specific as far as having a better market place?

These guys have had quite a few Diesel Pajero's and Diesel Landcruisers 7500-8500 for 2 door models, they want quite a bit more for anything 4 door. I drive RHD and LHD almost everyday and it's gotten to the point that i really don't notice. I will say though it is weird at first and it's even weirder and more difficult for passengers, when you're riding shotgun in a right hand drive it's a strange feeling but driving is no big deal. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
