So my alternator died on me as I drove to work in the morning. I managed to limp the car into the parking garage and got into a space. I have a replacement part.
My question is, looking at the manual (1995 3.0L LS) the removal procedure only talks about how to actually remove the connectors and bolts immediately holding on the generator.
Is this a repair I can do in a flat lot quickly with a minimal assortment of tools, or am I best off towing the thing back to my house to make the swap?
Are any other removal or pre-removal steps required to make this replacement outside of removing and replacing?
I thought I remember reading something about accessing it through the wheel well, but now I can't find that.
Thanks in advance.

Alternator is a cinch to remove and replace. It is on top of the engine. Remove the belt, remove the electrical (battery connections first) and remove the alternator. Probably a 30 minute job tops (including resetting your radio presets).

Yours is on top, his isn't. The 95 3.0 is very much like the 3.5, and very much not like the 3.0 12V. It's not hard, if you attack it right...
1. Pull the airbox. It will give you tons of room for most the work, including the removal and replace. 2. Unless other have tricks I haven't heard, you will want to pull the bottom skid plate. You need to get under to access the tensioner for the belt. I have reached it from above, but it is so damn miserable that I never did it again. 3. The captive nut on the alternator for the long bolt has to be able to wiggle so you can thread the bolt. My last change had one where the bolt was tight. Before you try the install, put the bolt in a threw turns and wiggle it it t make sure the nut will float.

My mistake, I saw 1994 3.0 LS in the text. That is what I have.
