1988 Mitsubishi Delica L300 4X4 Turbodiesel

This 1988 Mitsubishi Delica L300 4X4 is a Japanese import with hi/lo range 4WD paired to a turbodiesel/5-speed manual drivetrain. Mileage is said to be 77k, and interestingly/disturbingly itÆs been tested as radiation-free. Like most cars from Japan it looks very well cared for and comes with dual A/C, power steering, doors, and locks. ItÆs currently in transit and once arrived work will include a new timing belt, water pump, thermostat, brakes, and a full fluid change. Findit here on Craigslist in Richmond, Canada for $10,500.

Dat DSM rally car, tho...

FYI, jut in case you missed it, I'm going to be importing one of these first quarter next year. (I want the facelifted model - 1990+ - with the projector headlights.) Already working with an importer in Toronto.

Here's a link to the full story. Which you might find very interesting. Prices, process, warranty and finance information inside.

The import process for Japan has existing infrastructure (in Canada, and even starting in the US now that there are some sought after 25 yo models), and does work very well. Also, when you pick em right you can find a JDM with relatively low mileage, and good condition. I can't speak to the Philippines, but I've imported three mitsus from Japan since 2006, and all three have been stellar. I did my homework and was very picky, but all three were superb examples of used vehicles. Additionally, the Japanese Domestic Market got all the bells and whistles, and in many cases the model year was one ahead of the rest of the world.

Couple that with fairly cheap/easy shipping from Japan to Vancouver, BC and you have a winner.

When I was there in the Angeles area it looked like a virtual Delica traffic jam.....one time I counted 4 at the traffic light all in good condition.....some 4x4'd up but most in good stock condition with most of what we would look for....I do not know about cost but do know the SWB Pajeros I looked at online there were at a good price....in 3 weeks I only saw one Delica that was dilapidated - it was sitting and either a tradesmans work vehicle - or just sitting there not sure......Ray might have some insight or avenues - he probably has 10,000 or so relatives there the families tend to run large......

Most of the Delicas here are also ex-JDM with shoddy RHD to LHD conversions. Though some pals have had some success after spending $$$ correcting the conversions.

The Delica was later manufactured by Hyundai as the H100 and Grace van. Albeit only in 2wd and long wheelbase guise.

its a mini van with 4x4. They think just cause we don't have it here they can rip us off selling it here. But I could be wrong and it could cost that much after transporting it here lol
