As your ultimate destination is LA, Flagstaff, Sedona, and Havasu are along your base line of travel. Palm Springs is between Havasu and LA

Coming out of Havasu, pick up 95 South to 62 West t Vidal Junction. Follow that to 177 South to I-10 and west to Palm Springs. Desert Center is along I-10.

There are several interesting things to see in Palm Springs. Living Desert and a botanical garden with every prickly plant in desert regions are two places.

Or, head north on 95 to Needles and west Goffs. There is a museum (Goffs School) that displays the heritage of the Mojave Desert region. From Goffs, head to Kelso where the National Park Service has restored an old train station. Between Goffs and Kelso is the Mitchel Caverns.

Of lesser interest is the Calico Ghost Town near Yermo (Barstow).

There is a lot to see and a lot of ground to cover in a short time.
