Looked but still unsure... Are the axle bushings the same gen 1 to gen 2? Is it just the front body's that are different?

Yes, IIRC they should be the same. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Cool thanks guy's what I was thinking... rears the same fronts different. I read that the gen 2 front's where flat and the gen 1's rounded. Just wanted to be sure.

Bring an old thread back to life. Im about to do this swapand was wondering about the bushings. I have to use gen 1 ones in the front right? Also there two a side correct? I can use gen two for both of the rears right? So ill be ordering a total of 8 bushings? Also if anyone who has done has part numbers of what wprked that would be awesome. Thanks in advance

Hmmm not sure about the bushings.

If those are the original bushings, it may be worthwhile to just buy a new set of front ones (2 each side) from the dealer or replace the original ones with the correct sized polyurethane bushings.

As for the rears, I never replaced mine as IIRC they're pressed in and did not require replacing. HTH.

The rear trailing arm bushings on Gen1 (-91) are the same as "early" Gen2 (92+). However sometime around 1997 they changed the bushing to a simpler single-step looking bushing. Also the trialing arms appear a little skinnier by just a few millimeters.

You can confirm this by looking up the parts at a Mitsubishi parts website or Parts.com or even ASA.
