I was working on a way to test it a couple years ago, but never came up with anything reliable. Best bet is to look for physical damage. Mine got taken out the first time because the crank bolt had backed out and the sensor blade took it out. Second time was me being lazy and not moving the crank sensor out of the way while doing the timing belt for the sixth or seventh time. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />
