Getting the Wheeling Fever
So team,
I know this has been covered but its huge and sometimes off topic so just trying to clarify,
Cheapest, maybe the only way(hard to decipher!) to get a better reduction through t case is to grind away some of inside of tcase( not sure where) diagram would help heaps or detailed instructions,
Then the gears driven by the chain are not touched ( anyone know a good aftermarket chain while im in there may aswell!)
Then Two other gears one large on smaller need ...large - 4 splines added or removed not sure please advise and smaller one 6 splines added or removed! giving us a 4-1 ration in 4wd with 5.38 gearing and solid crush sleeves I hope to put up a fair contest!
It may be better to use an a....something gear to give it more room i think?
Now does anyone know if somebody already makes them? could make them?
Does anyone have templates or diagrams of changed gears so i can save some design fees!!
either way tcase is going to get a work out we will see if it lasts!!
as always all advise and help is appriciated! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

With the right parts, one can adapt a Toyota t-case to the Sportage transmission. But I am not aware of anyone who has done it. It requires the main shaft from a Volvo, and a $700 adapter from Trail Gear (I think). The result is, you have low t-case fears available and possibility of doubling the t-case. But also, then you'd have Toyota driveshaft flanges ready to bolt up to Toyota axles.
