The best I could do is the 84 monty manual on mitsubishilinks.com. You have two switches? With 4 wires? That model has really cruddy wiring diagrams. The switches are on the rear extension housing, aft of the chain case. The most forward is probably the 4wd switch, and the rearmost is the lorange, judging from how the rail moves as the shifter moves (shifter moves forward, rail moves back). Two wires for each switch. Two of the 4 should show 12v+ with the ign on. One of these to each switch. The other two go to the indicator lights, and you'll have to experiment to see for sure which switch lights which light when the shifter is moved into each notch. Happy wiring...

I was able to find my 1985 wiring diagram. I had two switches with 2 wire each for a total of 4 wires. It wired the two switches together and the other 2 wires I wired to the Tcase harness. Presto, it worked on the first try. I also replaced my 4wd light on the dash with an LED light. It made a big difference. Now I can see it illuminate in the day time. God bless LED lights.
